The Latest
Not much literary content and I apologize but this is sorta of a cycling diary for me also.
Thursday afternoon I did the Deerfield loop at max speed for me. Mind you I have been at 70-75% up until this week. The loop with some hills averaged exactly 20mph until the final climb out of North Bay. I thought that was a great ride because my best was only 18.5mph. I won't get dropped again when I ride with those tri guys again in a few weeks. I also have a TT next Tuesday. I am hoping it will only be 19 minutes of pain.
Friday was "the" biking day. I got my buddy Scotty out on a borrowed MTB and did a easy ride for about an 1.5hours with him and had a good time. I have been trying to get him into cycling and he acted like he had a good time. Then I rushed home washed the mud off and rode my road bike down to the resevoir to catch the group ride that had left from Indian Fitness. When I saw the front riders I sorta freaked out because there were some fast guys on the front. The tempo was nice, and relaxing in the beginning. Ended up with some attacks on each other on the hills which I was very pleased with how well I climbed against the guys who have been racing. The climbing repeats I did on Monday worked great and paid off. I am about to go home and some more. It was a 25 mile route.
Sunday I was very happy for George Hincapie. My social life has gotta improve. All I do is work, ride, and watch cycling. Funny how simple things make me happy now...like picking tomatoes thatI grow in planters or poaching blueberries off my neighbor's bush that hangs over into my yard.
Got the molding put into my master bath and installed the new throne. I have come to the realization that I will now have to buy new sinks because the existing ones keep leaving rust rings on the counter. This week I will begin on the guest bathroom's floors and hopefully by Sunday I will be finished with the bathrooms and I will be starting on kitchen floors next.
This morning I stopped at the Bike Rack and saw a pink and grey Giant TCR and the pink part reminded me of a RBR girl.
What if I found a girl who liked cycling?
